Orono Pride is a non-profit 501c3 organization that was formally founded in 2020 by a group of individuals committed to LGBTQ+ representation, visibility, and affirmation. We aim to amplify, support, and promote LGBTQ+ organizations across the state of Maine. We envision a community that comes together to strengthen universal civil rights; safety in schools, workplaces, and recreational endeavors; and the resilience and self-reliance of Q+ individuals and families. We celebrate, educate, and explore, through local events and fundraisers, the diversity of sexual/romantic orientation, gender, and identity intersection. Orono Pride envisions a community where all LGBTQ+ people live safely and openly in the town we call home.
